Intracom Group of businessman Nguyen Thanh Viet (Shark Viet) has just completed the acquisition of a 19-year-old private university, marking a strategic expansion into the education sector. According to the latest decision of the Prime Minister, Chu Van An University will officially be renamed Intracom University.
Intracom Group Completes M&A After 19 Years of Establishment
The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2445/QD-TTg dated November 5, 2025 on renaming Chu Van An University to Intracom University. The Decision also assigned the Ministry of Education and Training, the People’s Committee of Hung Yen province and relevant agencies to closely monitor this process, to ensure transparency, prevent loss and waste of assets, and at the same time not affect the continuous operation and interests of related parties.
Chu Van An University was established in 2006, after more than 19 years of operation, has trained tens of thousands of students, providing high-quality human resources for many provinces and cities. Before being acquired by Intracom, Ecopark Group invested in the school since August 2021 and opened an additional facility in Ecopark Urban Area under the EcoUni brand. According to information on the school’s website, Intracom Group officially became the sole investor after the M&A deal with Ecopark Group in July 2025. Currently, the Acting Rector of the School is Prof. Dr. Ngo Xuan Binh, Former Deputy Director of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Multi-Industry Strategy of Intracom Group
The acquisition and renaming of the university marks Intracom Group’s official entry into the education sector. Intracom, whose full name is Infrastructure and Transport Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, was established in 2002 and equitized in 2006. The Group operates in multiple sectors, including real estate investment, clean energy, construction materials, construction and installation, and especially in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors .
On the official website, Intracom Group introduces that the group has developed into more than 30 member companies, expanded branches to Singapore and Japan, implemented more than 100 investment projects and served over 1 million customers. The Group’s Chairman is Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet , who is widely known to the public as the main investor in the Shark Tank program (Vietnam’s Billion Dollar Deal), has supported capital and experience for many domestic and foreign startups.
The expansion of Intracom, a corporation with a solid foundation in the pharmaceutical field, into education is considered by observers to be a strategic move that can create a closed value chain, especially in providing high-quality human resources for the healthcare system and other industries of the corporation in the future.
