CVC Secondary Partners, CVC’s dedicated secondaries investment platform, has announced the final close of Secondary Opportunities Fund VI (SOF VI) with total commitments of $10 billion
The latest fundraising marks a significant increase from its predecessor funds, which raised $5.8 billion in 2023 and $2.7 billion in 2019, underscoring the continued expansion of the global private equity secondaries market.
SOF VI attracted commitments from more than 200 institutional investors worldwide, including both existing and new investors. Notably, approximately 50% of the capital raised came from investors committing to the SOF platform for the first time.
The fund will continue to focus on mid-market private equity secondaries, with a particular emphasis on buyout funds managed by high-quality general partners (GPs).
Its investment strategy spans two core areas: the acquisition of fund interests from limited partners (LPs) and participation in GP-led secondary transactions. Through these strategies, CVC Secondary Partners aims to build a balanced and diversified global portfolio of private equity assets.
CVC CEO – Rob Lucassaid the fundraising reflects the strength of the firm’s investment team, CVC’s 20 years of experience in the secondaries market, and the continued confidence of its institutional investor base.
CVC’s secondaries platform currently manages approximately €20 billion in assets. The firm is also looking to further expand its capabilities into adjacent areas, including Credit Secondaries and Infrastructure Secondaries, as demand for liquidity solutions across private markets continues to grow.
CVC Secondary Partners currently has around 60 investment professionals and manages approximately €20 billion across private equity and credit secondaries strategies.
At the group level, CVC manages approximately €212 billion in assets under management (AUM) across seven investment strategies.
