Assessing this event as a new turning point in international integration and development of the health sector, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Health Nguyen Toan Thang emphasized: In the current era of growth and integration, with the highest determination, the birth of Resolution 72 – an important resolution of the Politburo on protecting, caring for and improving people’s health, has affirmed the need to raise awareness of the importance of protecting, caring for and improving people’s health. Along with that is the task of developing a synchronous and modern public and private health system to meet the people’s needs for medical examination and treatment. At the same time, specific solutions are proposed to achieve the goals, including strengthening international cooperation in the health sector. Responding to the requirements set out in Resolution 72, this conference is organized with the aim of building a modern health sector that meets the needs of the people, is capable of international integration and competes in the global market.
Within the framework of the program, domestic and international experts and speakers shared about modern hospital – pharmaceutical – medical equipment models, contributing to improving the effectiveness of health care, improving the capacity and effectiveness of state management in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food, and medical equipment. At the same time, the requirements for ensuring publicity, transparency, and reforming administrative procedures in the management, licensing, and procurement of drugs and medical equipment were emphasized, contributing to improving the production capacity and trading of medical equipment domestically and internationally.
Some opinions say that the trend of globalization and international integration is promoting the strong transformation of the healthcare industry towards personalization, digitalization and data-based. Therefore, strengthening international cooperation not only brings valuable resources and experience to healthcare, but also helps Vietnamese healthcare quickly access advanced techniques, improve professional qualifications and approach international standards. However, the development of M&A activities in the healthcare industry in Vietnam is also facing many challenges in the legal framework. The legal corridor for M&A is not yet complete, administrative procedures are still complicated; regulations on corporate governance and asset valuation in the healthcare sector are not yet synchronized, causing many difficulties for M&A deals.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Duc Nhu (Representative and Senior Advisor of Medicallaw, with many years of experience working at the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management – Ministry of Health), M&A appraisal in the healthcare sector is much more complicated than in other fields, related to practice licenses, professional operation licenses, fire prevention and fighting, environment, senior personnel, good doctors, drug lists, equipment and regulations on health insurance. Therefore, through the open dialogue forum between management agencies and businesses at the event, the Organizing Committee hopes to remove difficulties, promote the completion of the legal framework and a transparent and favorable investment environment. This is also an opportunity for domestic and foreign businesses, investors and organizations to meet, share information and establish cooperation, contributing to the formation of a community connecting M&A in the healthcare sector.
Affirming that this is an opportunity to connect domestic and international investors, creating conditions to promote foreign investment flows into Vietnam, many domestic and international experts and managers also emphasized that the trend of mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry requires transparency, professionalism and legal risk management at the highest level. Only when legal processes, auditing, valuation and operating standards are standardized, will businesses be ready to enter the investment and cooperation playground effectively.

Not only creating a space for connecting Vietnamese enterprises and international partners, through exchange and cooperation activities, the program has contributed to promoting legal standardization and financial management in healthcare investment, creating practical cooperation and development opportunities right after the conference with the spirit of: “Transparency – Professionalism – Creating sustainable values for the Vietnamese healthcare industry”.
Within the framework of the conference, Medicallaw signed many memorandums of understanding on cooperation, thereby building a multi-industry ecosystem connecting legal – securities – pharmaceuticals – medical equipment – investors, contributing to increasing capital flow into the healthcare industry.
